I have always been interested in family history and have enjoyed hearing about the stories, people, and places that make up that history. This is a space to explore I project that really began in January of 2024 when moving my grandmother out of her home of 30 years in with my mom. We found thousands of printed photos, 35 mm film projection slides, and letters. This space will explore some of my favorites, the people, and the family trees that culminate in me.
Navigating the Family Archive
The Coe blood is the Gustafson blood, the March blood is the Baker, and the Kellogg blood is the Sanders, Sembower, and Sherwood. Back and back it goes. There is Coe Oil in the blood, and hats are sold to support the blood. For me, McCormack is also in that blood that brings me here. I am starting with the Coe and the Gustafson, but I imagine I will reach back into both sides of the family tree and see where I end up.
The tiles below will bring you to the various parts of this project, some general and some specific. The goal is to make something useful and something worth exploring.
I will attempt to recount a more complete family tree based on the specific family histories, largely based on the work of others. For example, my great uncle Elon Gustafson, whose work alongside Mildred F. March, has a family history that goes back to conversations with Swedish descendants.
Inquires to access the full Google Drive Location of all the photos, documents, and other resources should be sent to Garrett Tur or his mother, Patty McCormack. They have the access to add you to the shared location; in the meantime, however, I hope you enjoy this more curated collection.
I like to think of multiple sections of this project: the people, the context, and the history.
Want to contribute to the project?
I would love to get input from family and friends who recognize people, places, memories, and more in these photos, videos, and projects. What would make my life easier is, if you do, try to be as specific as you can and understand that I intend to update this website as a public archive! That means anyone can access it, and I will not put things that are not in good humor.
Also, I am happy to receive any files, photos, or more if you want to share and connect them to this project. That would be awesome.
